Yorkshire and the Humber is the fifth largest of the nine England regions with a population of 5.3 million, 17 per cent of which is classed as rural. The region has high levels of unemployment and has the highest level of young people in England who are not in education, employment or training. BIG awards approximately £26 million of vital funding across the region each year.
Where we are based
The Yorkshire and Humber team are based in Leeds.
What we do
The team:
- holds regular meetings with other funder, voluntary sector organisations and regional and local government to communicate key messages and gather intelligence to feed into programme development
- identifies areas that are sending in fewer applications so that we can target outreach work to ensure we fund those most in need
- arranges events to demonstrate the impact of our funding and promote new opportunities
- sends regular email updates to our regional contacts, including MPs and Councillors
- assists grant holders in the region with branding and marketing.
