We believe that by giving support and development assistance to organisations that we fund, they are better able to achieve their outcomes and have a greater impact. As such over the last few years, we have awarded a number of contracts to organisations that can deliver support to applicants and grant holders.
We were interested to find out the impact and effectiveness of the support and development activity provided by these contracts, how useful grant holders found the support to build their capacity and deliver their funding outcomes, and whether the contracts provided value for money.
In March 2009, we commissioned CLES Consulting to undertake a study to look at these questions and explore how effective the contracts have been in developing the capacity of VCS funded organisations.
