What’s it all about?

Parks for People is a joint initiative between the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). We have allocated up to £6 million from our grants budget in the financial years 2011/12 and 2012/13 for funding for parks in England. This is in addition to the £20 million that HLF are committing each year for parks across in England.

What are we looking for?

Our vision is that everyone should have access to a local park for enjoyment and recreation. Parks for People builds on the commitment of BIG and HLF to bring real improvements to local environments by making a lasting impact on the lives of local people and the places where they live.

Who can apply?

HLF runs Parks for People on behalf of both HLF and BIG. For further information on the programme and details of how to apply, go to the Heritage Lottery Fund website or contact HLF:
