The Big Lottery Fund is committed to promoting learning -- from our own experience and that of others, most notably our grant-holders.
This section of our website brings together publications and other material developed over the last fifteen years or so. The information here is mostly made up of:
- evaluations, where we investigate whether and why particular programmes or groups of programmes have been successful, and the reasons that have led to this, and
- research studies that look at current social issues, or explore in depth questions that help us and others to work better.
Another important area is supporting our applicants and grant-holders to plan their own learning and to promote what they find. For instance, we've produced guidance on self-evaluation for projects and we're currently developing information and wider knowledge about measuring impact.
Our research and learning is co-ordinated by the Research and Learning team, who work across the UK.
